The Challenge
We were approached by a charity specialising in wellness and spirituality whose dated website was in dire need of a redesign. The new site would need to be simple to navigate and provide an easy way for people to donate.
The client also required an interactive events calendar to keep visitors up to speed with their latest activities and guest book feature to showcase their existing partnerships.
The Solution
Rather than attempt to patch up the client’s existing website, we started from scratch with a completely new design. In order to ensure their new site would remain useful for years to come, we built the site around a modern, responsive HTML5 core. As a consequence, mobile and tablet compatibility was built into the very foundations of the site – nowadays a basic step but one which was sorely missing from their previous website.
Visually the site was designed around short, punchy blocks of text, icons and buttons, with clear and persistent menus for easy navigation. We carefully considered the placement of information throughout the site so that visitors could quickly find the information they needed and make donations as quickly as possible without encountering any obstructions that might put them off.
We advised the client to use PayPal as their payment platform for donations – allowing visitors to easily donate without even having to have their own PayPal account. PayPal would also be easily recognised as a safe and secure platform by visitors, meaning they could make their donations in confidence.
