The Challenge
A nursery that has long since been a key part of the community in a small Yorkshire town was in need of an improved website. New management were looking to establish a modern online presence for this business which has a strong reputation in the local area.
While there was already a brand identity in place, it was in need of a refresh. We would need to build the first website for this business, making sure that the modern approach to childcare was front and centre while also conveying the historic essence of the business.
The Solution
The delicate balance that we had to find for this project was between old and new. How could be create a modern and minimal website that also conveyed the history of the brand? In the end we carefully selected specific design features and combined these with the font and brand guidelines provided by the client.
We created a flat, material inspired design using large blocks of colour to create the key templates for the website. The concise colour palette that we used meant that the colour from the fantastic images provided by the client could really pop. With text also having space to breathe. Carefully constructed layouts enabled us to convey large amounts of information that have a logical flow and well spaced out graphical elements.

In contrast to some aspects of the brand, the back end of the website is exclusively modern. A powerful CMS platform was used to make it easy for staff at the nursery to keep everything updated. Important functionalities, such as the ability to download new PDF documents and policies ensure that the nursery can keep essential information as up to date as possible with the help of our customised time saving features.
