The challenge
Calder Screen Print are an established, family-run business based in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. With an expanding base of happy customers in the local area and Nationwide, their goal was to build on their existing brand recognition, by improving visual continuity across their digital properties. With a slightly dated, static HTML website and inconsistent branding across their social media properties; Calder Screen Print sought our expertise to improve online branding and increase sales leads via their website, their external e-commerce website and social media properties.
The solution
Without a clearly defined and enforced corporate identity, our client had inconsistent branding and colours across their various digital properties. Our first course of action was to help define the brand guidelines, typography and the relevant colour gamut swatches, then implement new social media channel header art, and thumbnail logos.
We launched their shiny, new, all-singing, all-dancing website in January 2016 to a very positive response from their team and regular customers. The website’s visual design was over-hauled with a more contemporary, wide-screen, flat, material design aesthetic. Fresh new, high-resolution photos of their manufacturing process, products and the company’s dog feature heavily in the new websites, alongside a cleaner look and feel and more limited colour pallette. With a CMS (content management system) powered platform, and unlike their previous static website, employees can now securely login to publish news, gallery posts, portfolios, testimonials, frequently asked questions and more. Adding new pages to the site, will help to keep customers updated with their latest news, and boosts the value of their website as a whole, further increasing the website’s potential for gaining organic traffic from search engines, as a result of improved rankings.
