The challenge

We met with the head of an organisation of carpet cleaners who wanted to redesign the organisation’s website. The new site would have to support the needs of the growing community accessing it. This meant support for interaction between members, user generated content and different tiers of membership, as well as leaving scope for the website to continue to grow in future. A membership system was needed which incorporated a payment platform and exclusive content, as well as a help and support desk.

The solution

We built the new website around an extremely versatile and robust online platform that we knew would be stable enough to support a database of hundreds of members. An interactive help desk was established to support the growing user base, it provided quick tips and solutions for common questions regarding membership and provided logins for multiple members of the support team. The help desk supported invaluable real-time interaction with customers. Each membership on the site could link to a business listing on which supported a user upload of logos and images as well as the required certification for membership of the organisation. The site supported a private user forum area where members could interact and share content amongst themselves.

Paypal was chosen as the integrated payment system for members due to its ease of use and rock solid security. Pre-defined payment options were established at the point of membership approval to establish two different membership tiers. A simple approval workflow was built into the backend of the website in order to ensure that the site administrators could easily keep track of the member on-boarding process.

Graphic assets, fonts and colour schemes were updated to enhance the relaunch of the site. A carefully planned email campaign was enacted to advise the existing database of the update to the website and several social media assets were created to spread the message further. Incentive schemes were planned and executed to add more momentum to the relaunch.
